Co-op

Welcome To the Merivale High School Co operative Education Program

Lead Teachers: Mark VanVolkingburgh & Carol Ann Burrows

Co operative Education, also identified as Experiential learning, can assist all students, including exceptional students, who are bound for university, college, apprenticeship, or the workplace, in making career decisions as well as in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are essential in today’s society.
All forms of experiential learning are a valuable complement to students’ academic experience and preparation for the future.

Student Community Partners

At any given point in the semester, we have upwards of 25 students working with community partners throughout the Ottawa region in settings such as, retail, theatre, design, digital media/marketing, hydro electric, auto service industry, animal care, and various medical fields.

We strive to match the varied student interests with appropriate community partners. If you have an idea for a community partner, we will do our best to make it happen.
